The Creek Church – Part 4

church-plant-sketch

The Creek Church exists to love people from the bleachers to the field. Let me start this post by recapping the past 3 posts:

1.    It is the love of God that serves as the foundation for this vision/mission. (Deut. 6:5; Matt. 22:37-40)

2.    It is God who initiates, changes, moves, and transforms people. (Eph. 2:1-4)

3.    It is God’s people who have the power to serve Him by serving the people He loves. (Acts 1:8; Eph. 2:10)

4.    A relationship with Christ is a journey. (Phil. 2:12-13)

5.    Those in the bleachers – unchurched, closed, on the outside of God’s plan for their lives.

6.    Those on the sidelines – attend church occasionally, open but cautious about spiritual things, use to attend church and have walked away and are looking to get back in…..slowly.

The next part of our process for making disciples is THE HUDDLE. It is in the huddle where the team learns the plan for their life. People in the huddle are ready, eager, and teachable. It is in the Huddle where the plan all comes together.

We at The Creek have Huddle Groups. These bible studies are designed to teach each member who they are in Christ and what they are to do with what they have. This is the avenue where our process at The Creek is accomplished. Outreach happens through the Huddle Groups. Prayer happens through the Huddle Groups. When people come off the bleachers down to the sidelines and by God’s grace are moved to a Huddle Group – it is here where they can hear (Romans 10:17) the Gospel, understand their part in the plan, and become equipped to jump all in.

God wants people on the field serving him. To get to the field we need to understand the plan. The Huddle Group is where this happens at The Creek.

For more information on our Huddle Groups contact Matt Hahn at matthahn@thecreekchurch.org or click here to see where each one meets.
